LGBTQ+ Affirming Care

This is an important part of who you are, but it is not all of you. When seeking therapy, it is important to take a holistic look at your life and figure out what is causing you to be depressed, anxious, or struggle in some other way. Sometimes this connects to your queer identity, and other times, it has nothing to do with it. Our affirming care is about acknowledging that this can or cannot be a part of what's holding you back in life, and we have the understanding to integrate your identities and lived experience into the process.

Being LGBTQ+

Exploring sexuality and gender can be a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. It is a process of learning about who you are, what you like, and what you want. There is no right or wrong way to explore your sexuality and gender, and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Conversely, this can also be a challenging time when the right supports are not in place.

At Catalyzing Courage, we are honored to walk with you on this journey and support you through each step of the way. You may need to explore gender or sexuality or both, and we have the background understanding in the nuance differences on the ace spectrum, gender spectrum, or bisexual spectrum among others.

Exploring Your Gender and Sexuality

Transitioning your gender identity and coming out can be a very large undertaking. It is one thing to figure out who you are, and it is another to share that with the world and to process all the feedback that comes along with it. Having the supports in place during this process can be incredibly helpful. At Catalyzing Courage, our process is methodical and moves at the pace that feels comfortable to you. We believe it is essential to have a plan and move through it based on how quickly you can adjust to this new public identity.

The coming out process also applies to sexuality. The process can be very similar to transitioning, while a transition is not generally necessary. Although, some people find that their sexual identity adjusts how they relate to the world as well.
